Can You Make Money With AppStation – Playing Games?

Well, the idea sounds great…

And there are literally hundreds of Apps on both Google Play and the App store that claim they can help you MAKE, SAVE… and even WIN money.

But all of the APPS that are currently available online; either only pay a teeny tiny amount OR…

If you’re looking to WIN money, have crazy odds stacked against you.

That said, if you’re looking to earn rewards for things you’ll likely be doing anyway, like playing games, then are some Apps that can help you to do that.

Today, I’m looking into AppSation – an App like many others that are freely available and claim they will pay you to download Apps and play games.

But is AppStation legit? Can you make money & how much can you make?

AppStation Review – Key Points….

• How much does it cost? It’s Free.
• Who is it for? People who enjoy playing games on their phone and want to make some extra cash.
• Where can you download? Google Play right now, Worldwide.
• Is AppStation a scam? No, it’s legit. However, you’re not going to make much in the way of real money here and there has been some negative feedback – which I will talk about in a moment!

What Is AppStation About – How Do You Sign Up?

You could compare AppStation with other similar Apps like: App Nana, AppBounty and AppLike.

In fact, the company who created Applike, ALSO created AppStation.

How it works is, App Station will promote certain Apps on their platform and if you download and play the Apps they suggest, then you can earn coins.

You save up the points you accumulate and eventually exchange for rewards.

It’s not always QUITE as simple as that however, as you will normally also have to complete certain tasks in order to actually get rewarded.

This often involves completing a game to a certain level, (which could be quite an advanced level).

With an easy task, it may just be to keep the App installed for a certain number of days, or to play on it for a certain amount of time.

AppStation Referral/Affiliate Program:

AppStation has a referral program, where you can earn a percentage of what your referrals earn on the platform.

One nice difference here is that you earn 25% of your referrals earnings – but they also earn 25% of yours as well.

So, it’s an added bonus for them to actually sign up via you.

You can also get an additional 250 coins per sign up… Which isn’t much but another perk.

Affiliate programs like this really don’t interest me however, because I know you need to literally have thousands of active referrals to make much at all.

Consequently, even as a blogger, I rarely participate in these type of affiliate programs anymore.

Yet, affiliate marketing is actually one of the main ways I do make money on this website.

Who Can Join AppStation?

You can join from Worldwide – however, what Apps are actually available to you will vary considerably on your location.

How Does App Station Know You’re Playing An App?

When you initially install this App, it will ask for your permission to grant access to view your data usage.

By doing this, they will be able to track what Apps you download, how long you play for and other factors.

How Much Can You Earn With AppStation?

Here you get paid in virtual coins, which you can transfer to cash later on.

Once you download and start playing an App, you start getting between 200 and 300 coins for every minute you play.

That may sound like a lot, but in actuality you may only make $0.02 or $0.03 and this doesn’t continue on and on for the length of the time you play either.

As you continue to play the game, you get less and less coins over time.

This is a shame, as you may imagine that you’d get paid more for playing on the App more.

This is something that many people have complained about, (I elaborate further down).

But I suppose this is also meant to encourage you to try new Apps once your target goal is reached and to still participate with the App.

I suppose this isn’t an issue for you if you get easily bored by Apps and enjoy trying out new ones regularly.

How Do You Get Paid?

I did like the fact that you can withdraw your earnings from a low amount and this will stop people just giving up, (which is sadly the case with so many related apps and websites).

I’m in the UK and I could get a PayPal withdrawal for 50 pence if I wanted to.

In the US, it would be $0.50

That’s another good aspect, you can get paid via PayPal.

But if you prefer to get paid via Gift Cards, they have some of those as well.

Is AppStation Legit?

Yes, App Station is legitimate, but that doesn’t mean it still hasn’t experienced issues and you will only make a very small amount of money.

Unless you have some crazy sales funnel bringing in thousands of referrals on the daily!

However, it’s free to join and if you enjoy trying out new Apps and playing games anyway, no harm trying it.

Take note – there has been some mixed feedback about this site, which I will go over a little further down.

What I can say is… that when you get thousands and thousands and thousands of people downloading an App, there will inevitably be some bad reviews.

If an App seems to get good reviews on the whole considering this, then they are doing a good job.

Once that balance starts to tip into the negative, then it could be going downhill.

PROS

• Referral program available.
• Simple to get started and understand.
• Low cash-out threshold

CONS

• Some locations may find a very limited amount of Apps they can download.
• How much you earn actually decreases the longer you play.
• It goes without saying really… But you won’t make much money.
• This App is note currently available on the App Store.

What Do Other People Say About AppStation?

I’ve noticed a lot of negative feedback about this App recently and quite a lot of one star reviews on appgroves.com

Actually, 75% are negative at the time of writing – but there were only 20 reviews on this website at the time.

Some of the negative comments included…

• A long wait to actually get paid.
• The fact that you get paid LESS coins the more you play, which seems unfair.
• Problems in tracking game play/time.
• Glitch/loading issues.
• Takes too long to earn points.

On Google Play, it’s quite a different story because this App has over 69,000 reviews at the time of writing.

It’s also managed to maintain an average of 4.0 stars for now – which is good.

Although, scrolling down the reviews, there are a LOT of one star reviews as well recently – so, I’m wondering how long it will stay at 4.0 stars.

Concluding Thoughts – Is AppStation Worth It?

I don’t really play on Apps on my phone that frequently anymore, so for me it’s not worth it.

But if you love to play Apps and check out new releases and so on, then you may as well get paid a little in the process.

The issue is, a lot of people look for ways to make money with Apps and end up coming across stuff like this.

Not that you’re missing out – over several years, I’ve only found Apps that pay a small amount, nothing substantial.

With the exception of something like website testing, which is a bit different and does pay about $10 for 20 minute tests.

But generally, when it comes to phone Apps, they’re low paying opportunities right now.

You can still earn more with Survey sites and Apps than the game playing variety – I like Swagbucks for surveys and offers.

I think there will be bigger opportunities one day though!
