Well, if you’ve spent much time doing those, you will know how untrue that is!
This is what many people are hoping to find when they look for ways to make money online and scammers are ready and waiting to take advantage of this expectation.
The truth is: there is no such thing as getting-rich-quick, when it comes to making money online.
I have reviewed hundreds of make-money-online opportunities and signed up to so many programs and courses… I have lost count.
It’s very easy to be taken in by flashy videos and promises of over night success but, it’s all a charade to get your money.
That’s the harsh reality and it’s pretty astonishing the amount of scams that are out there live online.
There are real legitimate ways you can learn, but none of the real ways involve a super quick path to wealth, (sorry to disappoint!).
Another reality is… Most people that start, will give up.
It’s not that a majority fail, it’s actually that a majority simply quit before they’ve put in enough time or effort.
The good news is, that if you actually persevere and don’t give up, you will be in the minority and have a much greater chance of success.
Have you ever paid a lot of money to access a program online, when you didn’t have much idea of what the training even WAS?
In the make money online and blogging industry, you’re often forced to pay for courses without trying them and having little idea what they contain before you are through the door.
How are you meant to pay for something, when you don’t even know what it is?
This is intentional though, as the creators know that MOST people never ask for a refund…
In fact a majority of people don’t even start the courses they buy.
How sad is that?
There are plenty products like this that are still valid and good products, but it’s frustrating that you can’t be sure they’re right for you, prior to getting out your credit card, or logging into PayPal.
You may be aware of a particular famous blogging course, that costs hundreds of dollars to join and you can’t even get a refund if you don’t think it lives up to expectations.
(Oh, until you have proved you have gone through every-single-step within an allotted space of time and can prove it…).
Doesn’t there seem to be something a bit wrong about that…. ?
I mean, if it’s so amazing, why can’t they give you a refund? Surely most people would be happy to pay for something that is quite so life changing?!
So, I far prefer products where there is some sort of free membership or trial.
You should get a chance to look at the product, before you buy anything.
How can you just make a massive investment into something, when you don’t really know what it is?
But did you know, that even when a program provides a 30 day money back guarantee, very few people actually ask for a refund?
That’s because: A majority of people that buy online courses, never actually do them!
Let alone get to the stage of asking for a refund.
Maybe you’ve done that too in the past? (I know I have!).
So, what key components do you need to start an online business today?!
These are all very simple factors, but all of significant importance.
- You need to have support & guidance.
You really need help from other people who know what you’re going through.
Sure, many people go it alone, but it does take longer and there is so much you can learn from having a support network.
You need people you can go to for help, advice and support.
This can be a tough road to travel on your own and having people you can relate to and who are on the same journey, can keep you motivated.
- You need to have have your own website.
You really need your own website in order to be an online success in the long term.
If that makes you nervous because you don’t think you have the technological know-how to create your own website, don’t panic!
It’s now super easy to build a website now, (hold on a sec, I will show you in a moment).
- You need to have a willingness to learn new skills.
I don’t mean you need to suddenly develop a vast technological knowledge. Not at all.
However, there are certain skills that you need to learn.
For example: How to rank your posts and pages in Google, how to build and audience, how to generate traffic to your site, how to build and email list and how to track your visitors.
It’s not rocket science, but it does take dedication and time to learn.
The more open you are to learning new skills and broadening your knowledge; the more success you’re ultimately going to have.
- You need motivation and dedication.
You need to work hard on your business every day if possible, it has to be a priority.
Ideally you should commit to at least 10 hours per week!
You need to have the motivation to keep writing those posts to your website week in and week out, month in and month out.
It’s no good going into this and putting in a few months effort and expecting phenomenal results – that is not realistic and it won’t happen.
A lot of people will make their first few dollars within their first few months from their blog or website, (like I did).
However, that’s just the beginning! You need to look at this as a long term venture.
I regularly get emails from people asking me when they’re going to make money and worried that they have no traffic to their blog…. When they have only been working on it for a month or two!
Google can take months to trust your website and it will usually take many months before that trickle of visitors starts to expand.
You certainly need to believe that you will be working on your business long term!
It will be worth it, but think of this in terms of years, not in terms of months and weeks.
The more time and effort you put into your business, the quicker and more substantial your results will be.
