Last March was one of the best months I ever had and it was a bit of a surprise at the time & random month!
As it turns out, THIS MARCH was pretty good also — but did not quite succeed last March!
Ads wise – the US and Canada did well, but my ACOS in the UK went much higher; mainly because I started some new AD experiments which have been costly.
One experiment I did was to include a broad/exact and phrase combination manual Ad and this quickly went out of control and was difficult to optimise.
It spent a lot more in April too, to the point that I have now put this Ad on pause.
MARCH 2022 LOW CONTENT INCOME REPORT:
So, in total my March was over $1000 more than my February, which was awesome. However, it was still lower than my March previously in 2021, by a few hundred dollars.
As you can see below, my highest day in March was and in general, it was pretty steady again throughout.
My highest day was late in march and close to $500.
My lowest day was just over $100 and my second highest was $331.
I always seem to have that steady wave patten on my income reports, with the odd big day added in.
Did I Publish Anything New?
I think I only published 9 books in March, which is much more than I thought because I had published all those right at the start of the month and nothing in the second half.
It may seem like a lot but several were notebooks, two were sketchbooks that I created as an experiment, (to see if I could go into a saturated niche… It didn’t work out well in the beginning, but I have now made some sales!!).
Two were log type books which took a bit more time and effort, (I’ve yet to sell either of them yet!).
However, I have not achieved what I set out to do, as far as creating more books and while I’ve started on the A+ content, I wanted to have more done by this point.
Ultimately this comes down to not making the best use of my time and being unwell part of the time during March.
As I write this, I’ve had some added pressure, as I have additional time commitments right now – but rather than working LESS, I’ve actually been working more and MORE efficiently.
It’s just reminded me of the fact that typically, I need deadlines in place in order to work at my best and as entrepreneurs; we don’t have a boss breathing down our necks to get things done by a certain time!
Were There Any Surprises In March?
The main surprise – if you like – was that my Amazon Ads UK went a bit crazy.
It wasn’t so much of a shock, because I did start some new Ad campaigns.
What was a shock was how quickly I spent some money. But this was partly because I decided to test out a campaign with all Exact, broad and phrase match features all in one Ad.
I rarely tend to use Phrase and Broad match so, it’s something I need to work on.
Using broad and phrase match of course leads to more keywords overall, but also a lot of generic or broad ones which won’t lead to high conversions.
I’ve never liked broad match Ads for this reason and prefer exact match, where I have more control.

KDP Amazon Ads For March:
My Canadian Ads:
My USA Ads:
My UK Ads:
I’m happy with Canada and USA for March.
While it’s not ideal for the UK – it’d be fine because I was trying out a new Ad. But I haven’t managed to make that profitable yet and furthermore, my US and Canada Ads haven’t been doing well so far in April!
It’s like something weird happened in April and it’s all switched up for me.
As you can see by the numbers though, I do make most of my sales organically and without Ads.
Other Expenses:
My other expenses right now come from the same ones I’ve had in a long while and currently that comes in at around $100.
You can see all my tools here – some are ones I paid for out right and others are monthly subscriptions
So, What Are The Total Expenses?
Ads:
$311.60
Total: + 20% VAT.
Around $62.32
= $373.92
Other tools: $100
Total Spend:
= $473.92
Total Profit:
$6744.30 – $473.92 = $6270.38
Of course, this is before any regular yearly tax that will need to be paid each year.
