Is Vasayo A Scam Pyramid Scheme: Or Legit MLM Opportunity?

Today I’m looking at Vasayo, a multi-level-marketing company, within the health and wellness niche.

They sell a variety of health supplements that are said to aid things like; weight loss, mental functioning and good sleep.

If you found this article, maybe you’ve been researching this company and thinking about joining – you want to know if this is some kind of scam; or a Pyramid scheme.

So, is Vasayo a Pyramid Scheme?

I will share my own thoughts about this business during this article; but I’d love you to share your own opinion, so please leave a comment below.

Overall Verdict: At the time of writing, this is considered to be a legitimate multi-level-marketing business opportunity – selling various health supplements. 

You should carefully consider prior to joining an MLM business, how you will generate leads and make sales.

Vasayo Was created by the masterminds behind Monavie – Dallin and Karree Larsen.

Monavie sold various fruit juices, energy drinks and diet based products. it has been harshly criticized in the past for unsubstantiated health claims.

Forbes was also quoted as claiming it resembled a Pyramid scheme.

In 2015, Monavie defaulted on a $182 million loan and was sold to Jeunesse. Yet, less than a year later, Vasayo was born by the creators of Monavie.

Vasayo is relatively new and this could weigh in your favor, because the opportunity won’t be saturated at this time.

That being said, fewer people will be familiar with the products and this may make the products harder to sell initially.

Many MLM health and wellness products are criticized for being poor quality and overpriced – without solid evidence to prove their effectiveness.

Are Vasayo products the same? Or are these products unique?

What Products Does Vasayo Have?

Vasayo have a relatively small number of products – these include:

• V-Slim – A weight control product. It’s meant to boost metabolism, reduce appetite, balance body sugar levels and slowing activity of hormones like cortisol. You mix individual packets with water and drink it.
• Core Complete – multi-vitamin/mineral blend – including a super food blend. You take one packet daily.
• Neuro – Tablets to support brain function – including memory and cognitive function.
• Microlife – Hydrates and boosts mood. Includes ingredients like Maca and green tea. Mix with water.
• Sleep – Includes ingredients that helps get you read for and ease into, a restful sleep. Includes the well-known sleep hormone, Melatonin.
• Renew – Helps support your joints and help you be more flexible and mobile. You take two sprays orally per day

These may all be reasonable products, but you should really make sure you try them and see how you find them personally – before you try to sell these products to others.

By looking at the pricing of these products, they are certainly on the high end.

So, you’ll have to think about how you’ll be able to convince people that these products are really more superior than other products they could pick up on the high street at a fraction of the cost.

For example; the V-slim product is over $123 for a 30 day supply.

That’s a pretty hefty sum for 30 days worth of product – although not that unusual; I’ve certainly seen other products at a similar price point.

Just to compare: Core complete is $72.95 for 30 days. Neuro is $67.95 for 30 days.

The sleep product is $62.95 for 30 days.

So, they do all require quite an investment and you’d really need to sell this product well in order to convince others that these products are really any more effective, than cheaper counterparts.

Of course, if you already buy them, love them and feel you’ve achieved amazing results using them; then this will come far more naturally.

If you’ve never really tried the products, aren’t knowledgeable about them and aren’t really convinced yourself that these products are worth the price, then it would not be easy!

Also, how successful you can be, also depends on who you surround yourself with.

That’s because, many people would initially trying to sell to the people who live within your area.

Your first targets would be the people you know and your friends and family.

Are the people you know the type that would spend this sort of money on products like this?

Are these the sort of products that would interest them?

It could be that you want to focus more on selling the products online and generating leads this way, (I will go into further detail about this later!).

What Makes Vasayo Products Unique?

Vasayo believes their products are unique, due to a developed technology that increases absorption of their product and thereby making it more beneficial in comparison to other products on the market.

This technology involves the nutrients being locked in liposome layers, protecting the nutrients from being damaged during digestion and then being fully absorbed.

Well, it all sounds impressive – but I can’t see any actual proof linked to via their website.

Where are the studies conducted to prove these products are really superior and work better than others out there?

Considering these are very expensive products – it may be that the price alone is enough to convince people that these must be superior products.

But it would be good to see some solid evidence that the products do what they claim to.

At this time, the evidence will only come from the current users and you can’t entirely trust some of those reports, as many will also be trying to sell Vasayo and the opportunity to others.

Vasayo Compensation Plan:

Every MLM compensation plan I have ever encountered is complex to understand and I think a lot of people probably enroll without really understanding how it all works – well, I don’t blame them.

At the core though, most plans require that you remain an active partner by selling a certain amount of required product per month.

You’ll earn from selling product, but also from introducing people into the business.

Generally, you earn a percentage of your recruits profit and in addition there will be various bonuses that you can reach as you expand your business, bring more people in.

The more successful your team is, the more successful you will be. So selecting the right people to join is also important, as the drop out rates for people leaving MLMs is very high.

The success rate of all MLM opportunities generally remains the same no matter what business you’re looking at.

So, on average, you’re only looking at the top couple of percent that make life-changing money and from there on, the income level drops dramatically.

As you can see above though – they are certainly not promising you can make a full time income here.

It’s far more likely that you can achieve a part-time income.

There will only be a small percentage of people who join Vasayo, that will eventually generate a substantial full-time income.

If you’re determined to make a success within this business though, there’s no reason why you can’t make money with it…   It’s certainly possible.

But ideally you want some sort of plan of action in place prior to starting this, you want to know for sure that you’ll be able to get leads and that the people you’re selling to, are going to be receptive to buying these types of products.

How Much Does It Cost To Join Vasayo?

Most MLMs do require a hefty investment to buy into the opportunity – although, more is being done now to stop that being the case.

There are different buys in amounts. You could go for a low buys in initially to check out some of the products and see if you think it’s for you.

There is an initial $49.95 enrolment kit. Which I presume you could purchase just to find out more about the opportunity.

At the time of writing, the different buy ins are:

• $329
• $499
• $889

There is also a founders package and this costs $1489.

If you choose this option, you also get an additional 1% of the bonus pool.

Why Are MLMs Controversial?

The controversy surrounding MLMS are based on the fact that, profit is not only made from the direct sales of products and services to individuals; but also by recruiting people into the business.

You also make a percentage of what your recruits make beneath you earn and may earn a commission from who they recruit too and on and on…

Usually this goes on for several layers deep.

What this often means is, the focus of the business becomes less and less about the products and more and more about recruiting people into the MLM.

This isn’t usually the creators’ intention either, but can still be the end result.

Because people who join soon realise that the big money is made through recruiting.

Ultimately, if a lot of the rewards and bonuses are based on recruiting, it’s naturally where many will focus their attention.

MLM’s often include numerous bonuses and incentives to encourage you to bring in as many people as you can into the business.

Obviously, the bigger incentives there are to recruit, the more people will be enticed into doing so.

The danger of this business model is, they can often fall into being purely a recruitment scheme, (which is illegal).

Some people promoting MLMs will wrongly argue that these businesses can’t possibly be pyramid schemes, because they are exchanging tangible products or services for money.

However, when an MLM collapses into a recruitment scheme, the products or services become irrelevant.

They are just empty vessels being passed from person to person.

The main point becomes simply to recruit more people and bring them into the business.

They may have to buy some product or other to get in, but it could be anything.

It’s not the reason they are buying in, they are buying into the “opportunity,” and it’s a means to an end.

For MLMs to be legit – they need real customers buying real tangible products.

With a majority of MLMs, a high percentage of sales comes solely from the people within the business either buying and selling among themselves.

Sometimes, people are forced to buy more and more product each month, in order to be an active team player and qualify for bonuses.

This can lead to people having surplus product that they can’t shift.

Some people get very passionate about trying to back up MLMs – often because they have put everything they have into it. A lot of money, time, passion and commitment has gone into them trying to fulfil their dream and make this opportunity a success.

You then get a very vocal minority who will preach to others how they have made a fortune from their MLM. But they’re not highlighting the reality that they are in the extreme minority.

Below them there will be lives shattered, houses lost, relationships broken and all too often their failure to succeed within the MLM is placed firmly on their shoulders.

They’re told they just didn’t work hard enough, didn’t want it badly enough, didn’t have the right strategy…. or any number of put downs.

Yet, so often, there isn’t even a training program in place to help these people get started and not enough to support in place.

There are now far tighter laws coming into place to try to prevent some of these businesses becoming illegal recruitment schemes – so, time will tell how this transforms the MLM industry.

Some MLMs throw elaborate events – you’d be forgiven for thinking you were at some sort of religious convention at times with these things, with the founders seemingly worshipped with a god-like status.

While I can’t say that Vasayo is going to have events like this, this sort of thing isn’t uncommon in the MLM industry and I think it’s important to question why.

MLM creators will say they’re meant to be motivational and inspiring.

But some people would argue, that glitz and glamour of these conventions, distracts people from the cold hard numbers.

The reality being – that majority of anyone joining MLMs do not make a part-time income, let alone become millionaires.

 Most people joining a MLM business, will lose their initial investment and end up worse off than they started.

What do you OWN by signing up to an MLM?

By joining a business opportunity like this, it’s important that you realise that it’s not the same as owning your own business.

You don’t earn the brand and if that company fails…you fail.

You do not have any control over whether the company succeeds or fails.

It is also difficult to control the success on your part as well; as you will be relying on how successful the team is you’re building.  With a high drop out rate, it can be difficult to gain momentum.

Being part of an MLM, is like a lot more like having a job than a lot of these people would lead you to believe – but without any of the security. Without a salary. Without sick pay and for the most part, without any money!

Don’t think I’m telling you to run back to your 9-5 either.

I’m just saying, joining this sort of company isn’t suddenly going to make money land in your lap.

Many people who are part of an MLM feel that they’re on the constant hustle – it’s not an easy road to travel if you’re looking to generate a full-time income.

Not that it should be easy!

There is nothing wrong with hard work; but too often these opportunities are not portrayed as being difficult to succeed in.

Unfortunately MLMS frequently fail too.

Not only fail, but many are also closed down.

Many others go bankrupt, or simply gradually fail – as less and fewer people join and more and more quit.

In addition, a growing amount of people also absolutely despise MLMs and anyone trying to push them.

So, if you’re going to try to get people to join this type of business, you will already be struggling before you’ve even started and you need to be aware of this potential hostility before you go into it.

If you want to join this sort of opportunity – you need to be prepared in advance that many people are not going to be open to the idea and will probably assume you’re involved in a scam.

Will you be able to answer with confidence that, whatever your part of, isn’t a pyramid scheme and what will you be able to have a solid argument against it?

Because it’s something that will come up along the way.

Is Vasayo A Pyramid Scheme Scam?

At the moment, Vasayo is considered to be a legitimate and legal multi-level-marketing business.

It’s early days for this company and this could mean both good and bad things for people wishing to be involved.

On the downside, these products are new and not that many people are going to have heard of them.

On the upside – fewer people will have joined the opportunity; which will make it easier for you to build a team and chances are, your area locally isn’t going to be saturated with people already signed up.

If you love the products and believe you know people around you that could be interested in these sort of products, (at that price point) then it’s totally possible you could make money with this company.

If you feel you know of people who may also be interested in joining the business, then you could do well.

Just bear in mind, that this may not be forever. Ideally, don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
