gfk Media View Review – Is It Worthy Of Your Time? Or Just A Scam?
Having recently reviewed another site that recommended gfk Media View, I thought I’d take a look into it myself.
Because, this was one that I hadn’t heard of before.
When I delved in, I did see a bunch of negative feedback.
So, I will look into that during this review and give you my take on it.
Review In Brief:
Website: https://www.gfkmediaview.com
Money Making Opportunity: It isn’t one. Unless you win money. Which, according to reports, seems very unlikely.
Cost: Free
Overall Verdict: I can’t recommend this site right now. Since the company stopped paying in points that you could redeem, there has been a lot of negative feedback.
People feel it’s just not worth it, as there is seemingly such a low chance of winning anything at all. This just seems like major cop out to me.

What Is gfk Media View & How Do You Get Started?
The idea behind this company is a little different to the norm, as it’s not just your regular surveys about everything and anything…
But it’s specifically related to what you may watch on TV, or listen to the radio.
Additionally, you don’t receive cash or points for these surveys, as you would traditionally with a paid survey website.
Instead you’re adding to prize draws, with the chance of winning a variety of prizes – such as cash, gadgets and vouchers.
Entering prize draws was one of the first ways I made money online.
But I didn’t just enter one or two, I entered thousands a month and so, I know the chances of winning are slim to begin with.
Furthermore, I would generally prefer to enter prize draws from well known companies, or where at least there was proof people won and that this was publicized.
I came across many online scam competitions online in the past, ones that didn’t really have a prize. In many cases, they would be fishing for your information.
In some cases, they would also use a fake prize as an incentive for people to follow them on social media and share their posts.
If you want a chance to win competitions online, this is definitely not a way I’d recommend to do it.
More info on how to enter competitions online.
In any case, I signed up to learn more.
Signing up:
You first need to register by giving your basic info. I know I always say this, but I do recommend having a separate email for survey websites.
They also asked for my mobile number and you have to provide one, because they send you an activation code.
I really don’t like this at all, because it means them having your mobile number is essential to sign up…
Although, I accept a lot of websites do this now for security, so fair enough.
I’ve received so much spam for using my mobile number online via competitions, so much so – I had to change my number…
As a result, I don’t like giving my mobile number away!
When I regularly answered competitions, I ended up buying a cheap pay as you go phone and used that as my number.
That way, if the phone rang, I’d always know it was related to that.
In any case, then should confirm your email address and you will get an activation code that you need to add in order to register.
Once you have got through, they ask you some further info about your household.
Including your occupation and approximate earnings and some questions about what TV services you’re signed up to.
Once you get through all this, you’re now eligible to participate in their surveys.
What Do Other People Say About gfk MediaView?
There is certainly not the best feedback from real members online here.
The average rating on survey police is under 2 stars.
It appears that this panel has changed in recent years from paying in points, that you can exchange for prizes – or to Sweepstakes entries, where you can win a competition.
Some members have claimed that people with the same surname appear to win and that they’ve gone from making some money with them, to absolute zero.
On Trustpilot, Media View currently only has 1 star.
Again people say they have not won any prizes, after being with them for many months. Some people say they aren’t even doing the prize draws.
The problem with prize draws is, how can you really be sure what is real?
It seems like a complete cop out that they’ve changed it to a prize draw system.
It of course saves them money – they will be getting a lot of their feedback for free now, because they no longer have to pay out to individual members anymore.

PROS VS CONS of gfk MediaView
PROS
- A difference from the norm survey wise.
- A good selection of prizes… should you actually win…
- If you DO actually win, you could potentially win a big prize, like £1000… but I wouldn’t count on it.
CONS
- No cash only prizes, which you likely have a v.slim chance of winning.
- Lots of negative feedback online.
- You have to give them your mobile number to sign up.
- This isn’t a money making opportunity, as they no longer offer cash rewards, (unless you win a prize).
- You don’t get an entry into a Sweepstakes for every survey, you need to get 10 tickets before you can even enter a Sweepstakes and you get one ticket per survey.

gfk MediaView Conclusion: Scam Or Legit?
From what I’ve seen so far, I really don’t like this site and wouldn’t recommend it.
As I mentioned before, if you really want to have a chance of winning prizes and competitions, there are ways to do it, but this isn’t a good option!
There doesn’t appear to be information about the actual odds of winning, why not?
Some people are suspicious in the case of the bigger winners not being real, or sharing the same name in some cases.
Also, they seem slack about actually posting who has won and the prize draw results.
This site reminds me a little of another website where you can enter sweepstakes. It was a legit site, however it has since closed down.
There are so many online survey panels now, that many of them do struggle and end up closing down eventually. I guess time will tell with this one.

Beyond Survey Panels… Into Long Term Cash….
Online surveys are a way you can make a bit of pocket money if you’re really consistent with it and answer them regularly and competitions online can be a way of winning some money-can’t-buy prizes.
But both can be time-consuming and actually won’t give you much for the time invested for the most part.
True, I have won some great prizes, but I also used to spend many hours a day filling out entry forms and would sometimes go for months only winning small prizes.
Once or twice a year a bigger prize would come along and it would be awesome….
But that was after many hours and many months of work.
If you want to stop exchanging your time for money, one of the best ways is to start a business that will end up paying you even when you’re not working on it.
When I go away on a break, for example, I still have payments coming in and I’m not doing any work.
That is because, I get rewarded in the future, for work that I have put in, in the past.
I have a website, for example, that was still making commissions for me and I hadn’t even worked on it in an entire year.

It’s just not easy… or quick… Which is why a lot of people just don’t stick at it.
Thankfully, building an online business does NOT need to be expensive.
You get courses and programs running into the THOUSANDS of dollars and, as a beginner, you just don’t need to be spending that sort of money.
What you do need – is time and dedication.
