What Is Nielsen Digital Voice? A Scam, Or Legit?
Nielsen Digital Voice give you the opportunity to win cash via sweepstake entries, in exchange for tracking your interests, behaviours and habits online.
This data won’t be traced personally back to you, but is used with the purpose of helping improve businesses and consumers ability to unearth internet trends.
There are several countries you can sign up with on Nielsen Digital. These include, the United States, United Kingdom, France and Germany.
Neilson Digital Voice is not a scam, but if you’re really looking to make decent passive income online, this is not a great option. I’ll explain further as we go on!

Signing Up With Neilson Digital Voice:
Signing up is simple and quick to do. You must answer a selection of questions relating to your circumstances, such as your location/age and so on.
All you need to do then is download and install the Nielsen digital app to your computer – again, simple and straight forward. Follow the instructions and you’re good to go.
Once the app is installed, you can continue completely as normally would online. There is nothing more that needs to be done.
For the act of downloading and installing this app and keeping it on your computer, you will gain entries into sweepstake draws, which happen monthly.
You are in with a chance of winning a top prize of $1,000 – with the smallest potential win being $25.
You can also earn up to $50 a year for registering mobile devices.
Additionally, you may be sent surveys – where you can earn extra entries into their sweepstakes as a reward.

Worried About Uploading The Application?
Understandably, some people just don’t like the idea of installing an app on their computer that tracks all their activity.
It could easily sound a little… “big brother is watching you,” couldn’t it?
However, Nielsen is actually a reliable company and you can be confident that your information stays private.
The information isn’t used for anything outside their own research purposes.
Additionally, the data collected will not be traced to your computer. It’s completely anonymous, you are not tied to the data that’s accumulated or sent to them.
All the data that is collected, will also never be bought, or sold to third parties.
If you think about it, search engines collect data about our activities all the time and this app is no different to that.
Some people have also been worried that the application will slow down their computer – Nielsen claims this is not the case, (but there have been some people complaining that it does).
If you download the app and decide it’s just not for you, then it can be very quickly uninstalled, in just the same way that you would uninstall any program on your computer.
SweepStake Prizes – Do You Have A Chance?
There are 400 users that will win prizes every month – but I cannot see how many people have actually downloaded the App, so you cannot calculate your odds of winning anything.
You can imagine that the number of entries will be very high and the chances of winning anything, considerably low.
Prizes will range from smaller prizes of $25, to the bigger prize of $1,000 and the longer you stay with them, the more chance you have of winning, (although, they don’t state how this will be the case).
What Are People Saying About Nielsen Voice?
Negative comments against Neilsen Digital Voice, tend to focus on the following…
- People not wanting their information tracked,
- Some having a poor customer service experience,
- The App negatively affecting computer performance, (although Neilsen would argue this is not the case)…
- Not qualifying for surveys, (but that’s a normal complaint when it comes to any online surveys).
- Sweepstakes entries not being a reasonable enough reward for providing so much information to them.

Nielsen Digital Voice – Is It A Scam?
Nielsen Digital Voice is a legitimate company and if you’d like the chance to enter some sweepstakes, it’s a simple one to do that you really won’t notice in the background.
As far as I can see though, you may be waiting a long time to win anything via those Sweepstakes!
As someone who previously entered thousands of Sweepstakes a month, I know that winning these things is a numbers game.
Your chance of winning is slim by just having a small bunch of entries a month, in a sea of others.
While Sweepstake entries may be seem OK for some people, wouldn’t it be nice to instead have a guaranteed gift card payment?
For example, you could be rewarded a giftcard whenever you kept the application live on your computer for a set amount of time.
Whatever you think of the sweepstake entries as a reward, Neilsen Digital Voice is not a scam, it’s just not a great option for making money online.
If you really want a better chance of winning sweepstakes, your best bet is to enter a LOT of them and not just through downloading an app.
There are online forums where you can find out about thousands of online sweepstakes that you can enter for free.
Or, if you’re in the UK, I wrote a post about how you can make money online entering competitions here.
Making More Online, Without Entering Sweepstakes:
I did pretty well online entering sweepstakes/contests and so on, but the what you win is not predictable and not something you can rely on long term.
Another problem is, it relies on the effort you put in day after day, week after week. If you stop entering, you stop winning and it can become incredibly time consuming.
That’s why one of my favourite ways to make money online now is affiliate marketing.
That’s because, it means a blog post that I may have written years ago, can still pay me today and it’s something you can build on over time.
If you’d like to learn more about that, this is where I got started.
