Today I will be looking at another smartphone App claiming it can help you make some extra money, for free.
In my appKarma review today, I will check out the PROS vs CONS, check out what other people have to say online and see how much money you can really make here.
Is appKarma legit? If it is, is it really worth the effort anyway? Let’s find out!
You can currently download this program via IOS or Googleplay – it’s completely free to download.
However, I realised that if you’re on iphone, you don’t download the usual way via appstore, (unsure why!).
Instead you can access it from visiting: appkarma.io from your mobile safari browser.
What Is appKarma About?
The point of appKarma is to reward you for downloading, (primarily) game apps and trying them out.
It’s also a platform for App developers to promote their Apps and increase the number of people downloading them.
For every app you download, you’ll be awarded a certain amount of points and you can save up these points to exchange later for gift cards, or straight cash.
There are quite a lot of apps that can pay you to download apps, because App creators and producers are keen to get more eye-balls on their Apps.
appKarrma show you about lots of Apps you may not have seen before and the creators of those Apps will pay appKarma, each time an App is downloaded.
They then then share a proportion of their profit with you.
It’s not JUST downloading Apps though, you will have to perform some sort of action to gain points.
This may involve simply keeping the app installed for a certain amount of time, playing a game up to a certain level, or for a being active on the App for a certain amount of time.
What you’re asked to do is going to depend on which App you’re downloading… Although, some can be pretty time consuming – because you may require to get to a certain level in a game.
How much you can earn per download is going to vary, it completely depends on the company.
When you do reach their cashout threshold, you can simply cashout via PayPal, or you can also use your points to get gift cards.
To get started, there isn’t anything special you need to do.
It’s really quick to get started by downloaded the app – or accessing it directly on safari, if you’re on iphone.
Who Will Suit appKarma?
If you already enjoy downloading and testing out Apps, then you may enjoy this type of platform.
While there is a “make-money,” element, the amount you can make is typically really small and so, it’s not something I’d recommend if you’re JUST doing it for the money.
Basically, it presents an opportunity to make a tiny bit of extra money – doing what you may already enjoy doing.
A great thing about Apps, is you really can use them anywhere, (well, as long as you can get a connection!).
What Sort Of Money Can You Make With appKarma?
What you can earn from downloading Apps can really vary!
You could be talking literally 30 or so points, up to several thousand and how much you make will not only depend on the App, but also what you’re expected to do.
It’s really important that you carefully read the instructions per App download.
Because, if you don’t complete whatever task they’re asking of you, you’re not going to get your points.
BUT… you need 12500 points to cash out via PayPal and that’s only for $10.
It seems like a LOT of points to me just to reach $10….. What do you think? Have you won much with this App? Let me know in the comments.
You need less to cash your money out with gift cards – you need 6000 points to get a $5, from various different providers – such as Amazon and Itunes.
However, there are a lot of offers available and lots of little ways to earn additional bonus points, so how well you do is going to depend on how much time you dedicate to this.
Other Ways To Earn With AppKarma?
Karma Plays:
You earn additional points for downloading Apps again, that you have already downloaded and made points from previously.
These offers are called “Karma Play,” offers and again, there will be specific instructions you need to follow in order to redeem points.
Once you have redeemed the initial offer with an App, a “Karma Play,” offer will often appear in the Karma play section of the App.
Karma Play instructions should be found around 24 hours after you initially install.
You can get the 2X bonus if you interact with the App one day after installing – but it only lasts for 24 hours.
QUIZZES:
You can also earn a small number of points by watching videos and also, by answering quizzes.
The quizzes aren’t like typical surveys – from what I can tell, they are about the Apps you download and so, you will have had to have downloaded certain Apps to complete certain quizzes.
You can earn up to 500 points for partaking in these additional quizzes each time and these can be found on the appKarma Facebook page.
Being Active On appKarma – For Bonus Points:
You can also get extra bonus offers over time if you stay with appKarma and can be awarded up to between 50 and 500 points for achieving particular milestones, (such as reaching certain download amounts).
For each milestone, you can receive a badge and as you progress, you can continue to earn bigger bonuses – up to a 12.5% bonus per offer!
This is a good way to get you to keep coming back – I like how they have these little additional incentives.
Referring Others To appKarma:
At this point in time, they do have a referral program whereby you can make 30% of everything your referrals make.
So, for example; if you invite your best friend to join and they make $20 on AppKarma, then you will make $6!
Which is pretty good, because many referral programs for this type of platform, tend to range between 10-20%.
PrizeRebel is another one that can go up to 30% per referral as well, (it’s a survey related website).
As an additional bonus though, your referrals also get 300 points if they add YOUR CODE when they sign up.
So, it’s a win-win from all sides.
If you have a successful YouTube account, you have the ability to make up to 50% of your referrals earnings!
To reach this stage, your YouTube account needs at least 1000 views a week and if you get more than this, there is an opportunity to add more points again.
PROS VS CONS
PROS
- Simple App you could potentially use anywhere.
- PayPal payment option – so you can actually make cash.
- Lots of little bounses and incentives to help you make more.
- Quick and easy to get started.
CONS
- Seems like you need a LOT of points to actually make anything.
- Some of the tasks are going to take you a long time to achieve. I can imagine people downloading Apps and then just giving up part the way through.
Reviews Online Of appKarma:
I wanted to check out what other people had to say about this App.
I was surprised by the sheer amount of positive reviews to be found.
Close to five stars on Google Play, with well over 300k ratings!?!!?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen quite so many high ratings for an App like this.
However, as I’ve seen before… Sometimes people give five stars, just so they can add their referral code.
I see lots of reviews with five stars, but then they throw in that you should sign up with their code.
Seeing as you get a large commission of 30% for every referral, this is pretty common practice these days.
But what it means is, that a lot of the people recommending the app, may not really think it’s that great at all! They may not even be using it.
After scrolling through though, there are still many five star reviews WITHOUT the referral code added too.
looking further, I saw that there were also some 1 star reviews floating around.
With some complaints including:
- That the tasks are long,
- not being rewarded for downloading, (although this can often be for not following instructions),
- no apps to download… (this is likely due to their location),
- taking too long to reach the payout threshold.
These are pretty general complaints that a lot of Apps like this would have and I imagine that the number of Apps you see available, could be greatly reduced depending on your location.
At this stage, I’d normally check out the App store as well – but it’s not actually on there.
To access appKarma via your iphone, you need to go to appkarma.io via safari.
This review was on my to-do list for a while and one reason I hadn’t reviewed it, was that I hadn’t been able to find it on App Store!!
So, I was pleased to discover that I could actually access it.
In any case, as a result, of course there are no reviews for appKarma on App store.
Overall, I think a lot of people enjoy the app, even though it does take a long time to actually make any money from it.
Like I said, if you enjoy downloading Apps and trying new ones out – then THAT would be the main reason to try appKarma.
If you’re just looking for a way to make money then, there are definitely better ways.
AppKarma Review Conclusion: Is AppKarma Legit & Worth Your While?
It’s totally above board and would suit someone who already has an interest in Apps and trying them out.
As you can’t earn very much here at all, I wouldn’t recommend you sign up unless you already enjoy playing App games on your phone.
You also must be careful to follow all of the instructions before you download the app, I think it can be really easy to miss some of the details and then you won’t get credited.
So, make sure to check & double check.
I also like the way they have various bonuses on appKarma and an incentive to stay with them and reach new levels.
It adds a fun element, but I also feel this is the best way to boost your points long term.
Is This A GOOD Way To Make Money Online?
Ummmm….. Nope.
Not only do you not earn very much at all for your time, but you are also exchanging your valuable time for… very little in the way of actual reward.
If you’re not really bothered about making money and are just in it for the fun element, then it’s fine and you may well enjoy this App.
I’ve actually enjoyed discovering new apps and games on platforms like this.
My husband is actually a HUGE game-app addict, so anything that I enjoy, I make sure to recommend he tries out!
But if you are seriously looking to make a good side income online, (or even a full-time one) then reward apps are not going to help.
However, if you’re looking to make real money in the long term, I recommend this place.
All the best,
