Recently, I have been on the look out for new Apps that could help make you money with your smartphone.
However, not just any-old survey type Apps. I’ve been looking for something similar to something like voxpopme, where video is involved.
After a little searching, I stumbled upon this App that I hadn’t seen before called ProductTube.
It seemed to tick the boxes I’d been looking for – it’s something a bit different, you could make money with it and it also uses video.
So, in my ProductTube review today, I will cover the following….
- What is ProductTube About?
- Getting Invited To Projects.
- How much money can you make?
- Signing up with ProductTube – Is It Easy?
- ProductTube feedback online.
- PROS VS CONS.
- Is ProductTube Legit?
- Earning More Online Long-Term?
All thoughts expressed here are my own – but I would love to get your feedback on this App!!

What Is ProductTube About?
ProductTube involves getting invited to do mini projects for companies and brands by completing set tasks and making a recording on your phone.
Once you’ve completed the task set, you upload the video to ProductTube and you get paid via Amazon gift code within 48 hours, (some people report it to be even quicker).
There are two types of video tasks that you can opt-in to complete and these are as follows….
Videos In-Store!
These videos will be of you sharing a shopping experience in a particular store – this is where you record yourself making decisions about purchases and speaking out loud.
So, for example; you may be recording you looking at the cereal isle. You have the phone at chest level and then speak your thoughts as you look around and make decisions.
You’re going to want to express exactly your thoughts and your decision making process – essentially, you’ll just be thinking aloud, pretty simple.
This may not be for the self-conscious types, if you’re worried about looking odd in a store.
But you may be able to visit during quiet times to avoid any uncomfortable stares!
it’s worth noting: That not all stores are going to be happy about you taking videos in their store. You may want to check on this before you record, depending on how you feel about it.
Example Of In Store Video!
Videos From Home!
Another type of video is recording yourself with a particular product at home.
For example; this might be a recording of you eating a certain branded snack and sharing your experience.
You might say what you think of the item, how it tastes, what you think of the packaging and so on.
The videos you need to do are extremely easy to do and there will be step-by-step instructions for every task.
You can upload these videos straight from your phone via the App, which is straight forward to do.
You just have to wait for your video to be approved but payment is prompt – as I mentioned, it should be with 48 hours.
If you’re uncomfortable with recording yourself on video, I can relate to that!
But actually you may find you find it easier with practice and it’s not like you’re going to be seeing the people who watch it!
Whatever type of video you complete, just make sure you speak clearly and follow all the instructions exactly.
You’re not meant to edit the videos either by the way, you just send them exactly as you made them first time – stutters and all!
Getting Invited To projects:
Once you’re all signed up, you will be able to get invites to tasks.
You will be able to see all available projects on your dashboard and these will give an explanation of the task and how much you will get paid.
Think carefully about whether it’s something you want to do and apply.
Generally you will need to answer a screening questionnaire to figure out whether you’re a suitable candidate.
How Much Money Can You Make?
How much you make is going to vary from task to task.
However ProductTube themselves do say you can make between $50-$80 in an average month, working around 1 hour in total.
This is a great rate for this sort of thing – as far as mini side-hustles go.
However, obviously you’re not going to be getting tasks and invites coming in 24/7.
Not all tasks are going to be suitable for you either and how many you get will really depend on a number of things – including your location.
Also, you won’t get paid with cash at this time. Right now ProductTube pay out with Amazon gift codes.
Signing Up With ProductTube – Is It Easy?
Yep – easy to do and completely free. You don’t need to have any special qualifications or attributes – anyone can join.
Just follow these steps….
1/ Download the App via Google Play or the App Store. You can download it directly here.
2/ Sign up with either with Facebook/Google or add your own email address/password.
3/ Verify your email address – ProductTube will send you a verification email.
4/ Login to ProductTube and go to your profile and fill out some additional info – such as how much you earn, whether you have children etc – this could help you get your first invites.
5/ Sit back and wait.……… you probably won’t have any invites for a while and it could take several days.
ProductTube Feedback Online?
I wanted to take a look about what other people had to say about ProductTube and generally there seems to be some very good feedback.
This app has 4.6 stars right now on the App Store.
Generally people are finding that the tasks are really fun to do and also well paid.
Some just find it frustrating that they cannot always qualify for all the tasks but naturally that is going to happen sometimes.
ProductTube also has over 4.5 stars on Google Play right now.
Again, there are many positive reviews out there – people seem to like how fast they get paid after completing video tasks.
Some have made several hundred dollars with them in a fairly short amount of time.
However, there have been some reports that the App is glitchy and can shut down without warning – I’ve not experienced this so far myself, but it seems that some people have.
PROS VS CONS Of ProductTube
PROS:
- Free to join.
- Potentially some high paying tasks – $50-$80 per month potential, with an hours work.
- Simple videos only required.
- Can upload videos directly from your smartphone.
- Very good feedback online so far.
- Higher paying than online surveys and similar.
- Quick payment via Amazon gift codes.
CONS:
- You may not qualify for tasks.
- Some complaints about glitches.
- No PayPal option.
- Only Amazon vouchers at this time.
- May be a lack of tasks.
- How many tasks available going to vary, depending on location.
Is ProductTube Legit?
Yes! This is a legit App that works similarly to other Apps like Field Agent, or Voxpopme.
However it is possible to make some decent extra money for doing relatively easy and enjoyable tasks.
This isn’t going to replace your day job or anything, but if you’re used to doing online surveys and similar things that don’t pay well – this at least can pay a bit more.
It’s also a bit different and looks more enjoyable to me than many other small income opportunities.

Earning More Online Long-Term?
The problem with sites like this is … you’re going to only be able to earn a limited amount and you’re still exchanging your time for money.
So, when you stop doing the tasks, the money stops.
That’s why I got interested in creating other streams of income that can pay me multiple times over… Even if I just do the work once.

I started learning how to make money with websites here – I had no idea what I was doing, but I learnt from scratch.
