IPSOS I-SAY REVIEW: Is This A Scam? Or Legit?
Is signing up to Ipsos I-say worth your while – or could you use this time more efficiently to make money online?
Ipsos I-say was first created in 1975 and as such, is a long withstanding market research company and well established survey site.
Does this sites longevity stand for anything?
Let’s find out…
Product: Ipsos I-say
Cost: Free to join
Money making potential: pocket money
Overall Score: Legit survey related website – one of the most well known and long-time established sites out there. However, you’re not going to make much money with any paid online survey site. Check out my 40+ ways to make money online.
What is Ipsos I-say About?
When you sign up to I-say, you will have the opportunity to fill in surveys and polls, as well as create polls – in exchange for points.
You build your points up and can then exchange them once you reach certain thresholds.
You can exchange your accumulated points for cash via paypal, visa prepaid, or you could exchange for an electronic gift card – such as amazon.
How many points do you need to redeem rewards?
If you want to withdraw cash via PayPal, you need a minimum of 1500 points, which amounts to $15. However, this can also take a long time to actually receive – it could take 3 weeks or longer!
This is not unusual with survey sites.
Whereas, you can get electronic gift cards from 500, ($5) and you could receive these within 24 hours.
Frankly, I’d prefer that deal because you don’t have to wait and can easily use the amazon gift cards towards so many things.
Although, if you wish to save up your points long term, you can save up for $100 paypal and you can save a few points by holding out for the bigger pay out.
How many points do you make per survey?
Generally, the points available per survey are around 45-90 and normally the estimate time wise to complete a survey will range between 5-35 minutes.
So, let’s assume you did 20 surveys all at 50 points, you’d have enough for a $10 giftcard. Lets suppose they did all take you around 30 minutes – then that would take you 10 hours. So, this equates to around $1 an hour.
In addition, it would most likely take you longer than this because you have to qualify for each survey – if you don’t qualify then, they kick you out. And you may already have been doing the survey for several minutes by this point.
It can take less or more time than the time predicted on the survey. You may learn over time to really speed up your answers…
You need to be careful to answer honestly though and just not click whatever box you hit. If they find your answers to be inconsistent or contradictory, your account can be suspended.
One decent feature of I-say is, that if you get chucked off a survey, they give you 5 points as compensation.
This is better than some sites, such as Global test network, who only give you entries into their prize draw as compensation!
It’s also worth mentioning that you won’t be able to do a tonne of surveys all at once, they will only send you a certain amount each week and you may not qualify for them.
It really varies how many you’re sent and how many you qualify for.
You’d have to start doing the surveys and just see for yourself – but somewhere between 3-9 for the whole week may be sent to you via email in my experience.
Then, if you go for them, you have to hope you’re eligible.
Ipsos I-say Loyalty Program
A neat feature of I-say is they have a loyalty program and this puts them a little ahead of some of their competitors, in my opinion.
This means, for example, that if you complete 200 surveys, you can earn an additional 600 points – and that makes $6.
While isn’t not a great deal when you imagine just how many surveys you’d have to do, it’s better than no bonus at all!
It is a reasonable incentive to stick to the same site, in the past I joined a whole bunch and it was more confusing than sticking to one or two – not to mention, plenty are outright scams.
Thankfully, this site is one of the legitimate ones.
You can also have a chance of making $5000 in their sweepstakes, but since there are such a vast number of members on I-say, your odds of winning will be incredibly slim.
There is also a referral program, so if you get other people to sign up, you can gain a commission too.
PROS VS CONS
PROS
- Simple to sign up.
- Variety of rewards available.
- A loyalty program – so, you’re rewarded for doing more surveys with them.
- A referral program.
CONS
- You can’t make good money with Ipsos i-say and it will take some time to build up enough points to redeem.
- Some people claim to have their accounts closed for no good reason, (similar complaints I have found via other survey sites). Perhaps there is a legitimate reason for this, but it is a common complaint.
- Slow/inefficient support. No doubt they must have many enquiries, but they are not quick to answer them.
- It will take a lot of work to redeem points.
- You can get disqualified prior to finishing a survey.
Ipsos Isay Review: Is Ipsos A Scam, Or Legit?
I don’t feel that Ipsos I-say is a scam.
If you’re completely set on the idea that filling in surveys is how you want to make some extra cash, then this is one of the most established sites out there that you could try.
Personally, I prefer a site with a bit more to offer than just surveys – you can find some of my top ones here.
One key thing to remember is, that these sites are not there to help you generate any real income, you may get some light pocket money from it, but you won’t quit your day job!
Also, the time and effort that you need to put in to reap the rewards, is high.
So, if you don’t enjoy repetitive work, you will get bored doing surveys pretty quickly!
Alternatively…
If you’re interested in spending some time learning how to make more than just pocket change online, there are plenty of legitimate training opportunities to help you start making either a part time or full time income on the net.
It does take work, but it’s completely feasible and can be done in your spare time too, just like surveys can.
The rewards for your time and effort though, is far greater.
Personally, I started learning here.
The training is broken down into easy-to-manage steps and you can sign-up for FREE.
That concludes my Ipsos I-Say review… I hope you found this post helpful!
