Wordy Word App Review: Will You Get Paid?

Wordy Word App… Is this another word-play app that claims to help make you money, or has it stopped paying?

I recently discovered this App via Google Play, looking very much like another I reviewed some time ago called Word Relax App.

Many people download and play Apps from Google Play, or the App store in hoping to make some free cash.

There must be thousands of free apps now that claim to pay out small amounts of money, in exchange for hours of your game play.

But do they really pay out………. Well, in my experience, it would seem that many people will play these apps for hundreds of hours and never actually reach the pay out limit.

Or, if they do… They can’t actually cash out and customer service won’t respond to their emails.

What happens witha majority of these Apps is, that the amount you actually win reduces gradually.

Slowly, you win less and less, until you’ll have to play for many MANY rounds of a game even to increase your winnings by 1 cent.

Yet, with the reward standing at $50 or more in some cases, it can be incredibly enticing to keep going.

Considering you are having to watch constant ADs to continue playing and knowing that these Apps are being paid for people to watch these ADS….. There SHOULD be more winners legitimate winners.

The misleading nature of some of these Apps, has led the App store to ban a bunch of them – yet this doesn’t seem to be the case on Google Pay.

Wordy Word App Review – How Does It Work?

This is the same company that also brought us Apps like Lucky Cat, which I also reviewed. The company behind this App is based in Hong Kong and called – Lbsbanana Ltd.

Although, I’m surprised it’s not behind some of the very similar word related Apps that are out right now.

In any case, this is a crossword type App. There are some blank spaces where you need to add letters to create words.

At the bottom of the screen is a jumble of letters, which you swipe your finger across to create these words.

These start off super easy and gradually get a bit more difficult.

You do get some cheats, such as a hint, if you’re stuck.

Every now and then – you win diamonds…. which used to be a cash sign I believe.

So, I’m unsure if they have now turned this into a play-only app, with no winning potential.

However, looks like there are many unhappy people still waiting to be paid their $50 – if the reviews on Google Play are anything to go by, (see below).

Eventually, if you continue to move up in the levels and complete more complicated crosswords, you’re meant to be able to make and withdraw $50.… Or at least, you used to be.

Is Wordy Word Legit – Can You REALLY make money with Wordy Word?

While it appears that you could once build up real money while playing this App… reviews and comments online, seem to say otherwise and it’s possible they’ve just withdrawn this cash feature now.

To me, it sounds like a similar story to the App I reviewed a while back called Word Relax…. Where no one actually reaches the pay out threshold.

These Apps appear to behave in the same way.

Whereby you will initially start to make some money fairly regularly and it feels as though you will get to the payout threshold if you just keep going.

But gradually, you start to get less and less in the way of real cash, until it’s next to nothing.

Some Apps also continue to increase the payout threshold.

You may have to go through hundreds of levels just for a few cents.

Is it possible that you could ONE DAY EVENTUALLY get to that $50 threshold?

I just don’t know. Perhaps everyone so far just gives up in the end, as it starts to become ridiculous.

How Can You Play Wordy Word App?

Wordy Word is available on android, via Google play – there is another App called Wordy Word on App store, but this seems different and I don’t believe you can make money.

It’s free to download, but you can purchase coins with this App, in order to get more cheats.

WHY you would spend money on somehting like hints for this game…. I don’t know.

What Do Other People Say About Wordy Word?

You might think that if people can’t REALLY make money with this App, that it would have terrible reviews.

But, actually, that’s not the case entirely. Partially, this is because you can’t necessarily trust that all 5 star reviews are genuine.

However, after playing this game – it still actually is FUN on its own, without having to win money.

And actually, there are very similar Apps on the app store that do not promise you any money for playing and still have Ads.

I guess the only difference here is that there is this vague hope of making money and perhaps this appears to be misleading.

On Google Play right now, Wordy Word has almost 4.5 star reviews on average and over 40,000 ratings.

Which seems pretty impressive…. But on closer inspection, there are a lot of one star reviews.

The person above clearly frustrated by the system – whereby you get paid reasonably at the start and then considerably less over time.

There actually are reviews from people who miraculously HAVE reached that elusive $50 cash out.

However, when they then try to withdraw their money, they’re told the system has reached maximum cash outs…. Hmmmm…..

Another red flag for me is there is no one responding to these negative reviews.

Often with Apps, customer service will reply and give the person some method of contacting them and sorting things out – this hasn’t happened here.

Also, people trying to contact support via email, are not responded to.

There are many MANY one star reviews from people who have tried to cash out and have been unable to do so.

It’s a shame really that this is allowed to happen.

Back in 2018, the APP store clamped down on many of these Apps that claim you can win money and banned many from the App store.

But on Google Play, they seem to be able to exist without any threat of removal.
