I was pretty surprised by the results I was confronted with when I searched in google, “make money online in the uk.”
WHY?
Well, there seemed to be a tonne of survey related site suggestions.
Let me tell you, joining survey sites is not a great way to make money online. You can make some EXTRA pocket money online with survey sites, but the pay is really low.
I have reviewed tonnes of survey sites – most of the time I don’t regard them that highly and largely because the money you can make with online surveys is peanuts.
Anything ever trying to claim otherwise is total BS.
They are fine for a bit of extra pocket money, but they do have lots of frustrating aspects to them and they pay badly.
So…How do you make money online in the UK?
Well, to for starters – being in the UK really doesn’t matter.
On the internet, you have the world at your fingertips and you do not have to stick to something that is UK Specific.
That being said, there is one way to make money online that is only available to the UK and Ireland… so, stick around to hear about that!
What you need to ask yourself is…
why are you looking to make money online?
The problem is, the reason most people search to look online to make money is either because…
- They’re desperate for money.
- They hate their job.
- The want location independence.
- They want to make a tonne of money and can’t see themselves doing that in a “regular job.”
Or some combination of those.
Which are you?
The answer to that question does matter, because if you’re absolutely desperate to make money, looking to make money online is a dangerous place to be!
I review different “make money online,” opportunities and a vast amount of these opportunities online will do absolutely nothing for you but rob you of your money and leave you worse off than you started with.
Scammers online know exactly why so many people flock on the internet in search of making money – it’s because they’re desperate to make money and they want to make money NOW.
So, what’s a little bit of money more if you are going to be rolling in cash in the next couple of weeks – right?
Wrong!
Making money online is not easy and it’s not quick – so, if you’re desperate for money, you may want to rethink looking online altogether and go and get a regular job.
In fact, if you don’t have a job – make sure you do have one before you start trying to build an online business.
Unless you have enough money to fully support yourself for a good while.
What I will Cover In This Post:
What I’m going to cover are two main options – and you can do both at the same time if you like, no problem.
The first option is for making money in the short term – it’s only available in the UK/Ireland and actually does involve making some cash quickly.
However, this is for making extra cash rather than quitting your day job, (even though, once you learn some of the tactics involved, you could make a lot more if you wanted to).
Ultimately, it’s risk free and I recommend you check it out.
The second option is long term and this talks about how you can earn enough money that you could potentially quit your day job eventually.
This would be the option for someone who ultimately is looking dedicate a decent amount of time and effort into creating either a partial or full time income online.
So, now that I’ve outlined both of those options — lets dig in!
The quick cash option…
There is one rare opportunity I reviewed recently, (only available to the UK and Ireland) where you can make some money practically right away.
This isn’t a get rich quick scheme however, this is only for making a small but reasonable amount each month, (around £500)
But there are a couple of things to consider – it involves matched betting, (if you don’t know what that is, I had no betting experience either prior to signing up).
It involves using free sign up bonuses and offers from bookmakers to make a profit. It’s completely legal an any money you do make is tax free.
This is not gambling – there is no risk involved.
I made £100 in my first week doing it – not a massive amount, but it’s free money and I had absolutely zero experience.
The reason I wouldn’t say it’s exactly fast cash, is you will ideally not want to take this money straight out, but use it to build up a bank roll.
This bankroll you can use to gain a profit from your free bets, so as you go along your profit builds up.
There’s full training available for this and as long as you follow the steps, there is no way that you can lose.

In It For The Long Haul?
OK, so if you’re out of the get rich quick mentality and aren’t expecting to make money tomorrow, then there are long term options.
In this day and age online, anyone can make money online as long as they have their own website and learn the right tools to drive people to it.
If you have a website and you generate enough traffic to that site, you can monetise it various ways.
Often this will involve driving people to products or services – where they can purchase something. If they do purchase something after reaching the website by your link, you make a commission.
If you weren’t already aware, this is what’s known as affiliate marketing.
This is just the beginning, as there are many other ways you can make money once you have an established site.
But how do you build a website?
You do not need any special skills to build a website now – it’s very easy to build a website these days.
However, there are various other skills you do need to learn and while it does take some time, it’s no where near as complicated as you may imagine.
In fact, when I came online, I had no clue how to build a website, let alone build an online business.
But thankfully – in the end I did find a legitimate program where I could gradually learn and I’m still learning today.
What did I learn?…
- How to build a website around any niche/interest you want… (I actually built several, but I’d recommend starting with one at first!).
- All about affiliate marketing and how I could make money from it.
- SEO techniques in order to rank my posts in the search engines and generate natural, free traffic.
- All about keyword research – which again will help you rank your posts highly in the search engines.
- How to write content and get ideas for content for my sites.
And tonnes more besides.
Plus there is a big community of other members, so if you ever get stuck – there is always someone to help you out.
The initial reason I signed up was because their starter membership is free and there was a ten part course – I figured I’d see what I could learn!
once I joined I could see what was on offer and didn’t look back.

You can make money online, but don’t spend too long just thinking about it.
The only way you can make progress is by getting the ball rolling. Too many people just think about it and do nothing.
The quickest way you can see results is by joining a legitimate training program and start learning and taking action.
If you look at making money online as a long term goal, rather than expecting it now and concentrate on building and growing your website – you will be much better off.
I hope you found this post useful… have you had any experience making money online so far?
Have you signed up to any scams?
Let me know in the comments!
All the best… 🙂

Hello Nat,
I’m earning a full-time income online for about a year now. It really doesn’t matter where you live. All you need is a computer with internet connection. There are many ways of making money online. Affiliate marketing is just one of them. It’s a good way and it could be profitable but in my opinion, every person should try as many different ways as possible.

Hey Julius, pleased to hear you’re earning a full income online – and yep, no problem where you live – that’s one of the great things about working online.
Agreed too that people should try things out – but ideally focus on learning one or two skills at once – or else it can get a bit much.
Thanks for your comment!
