What Is PanelPlace? Just A Scam, Or Legitimate Survey Panel?
PanelPlace seems to be what I call a “survey portal,” site – rather than your standard survey website. This is a very common type that I see now and basically it means that you don’t actually take paid surveys on the site.
Instead, they match you up with other survey sites that you may be interested in and you can take surveys from there.
However, I went into this thinking they just linked you to survey websites – but they actually linked me some things totally unrelated to that, platforms like udemy (where you can take many online courses).
So what sort of companies are they recommending? And are they really matching you with websites that are the best fit for you?
Review In Brief
Website: https://www.PanelPlace.com
Money Making Opportunity: Pocket Money / they link you to some other opportunities, like online learning.
Cost: Free To Join.
Overall Verdict: Legit – although, I don’t recommend it.

I’ve reviewed many portal-related websites like this and many I have found to present over-hyped earning potential and sometimes even lead you directly to scam products.
From what I can see, this website only sends you to legitimate websites and doesn’t appear to give you completely unrealistic expectations.
That being said, the first thing I see on the main page is the following….
“PanelPlace connects you to opportunities that make your life better….”
Make your life BETTER? OK… well, I guess you can be the judge of that if you join.
What’s your experience of PanelPlace…? Has it made your life better…? Let me know in the comments!
How Does PanelPlace Work?
PanelPlace will first ask you, if you’d like to sign up via Facebook, or Google Plus.
Alternatively, you can sign up via email and they will then ask you some general questions – such as your date of birth, address and full name.
I always use one separate email account for signing up to survey sites and other online services and courses… This is to avoid getting too much spam mail, which will happen if you’re signing up to a lot of websites.
Once you have filled out your general info and confirmed your email address, you’ll be sent straight to their dashboard where you can check out what they have on offer.
In the PanelPlace FAQ.. they specifically say that they’re a platform that helps you find reputable survey sites that pay out.
What confuses me, is that there are not just survey sites on the list that I was presented with.
At a glance, in addition to being linked to Udemy, (a large platform full on online courses) and more confusingly, a website called Blinklist – where you can download bite sized non-fiction books.
One reason they will recommend them, is because they’re affiliates to those companies and can receive a commission, if you sign up via their link.
That’s fair enough, but when you’re just expecting to be linked to survey websites – it feels a little bit out of place. Or am I being too picky here?
As far as Survey Sites go, what will be recommended to you – will depend on your location. As I’m in the UK, what I’m offered will be different to you in the US.
Specific paid survey sites recommended to me included:
- Toluna
- Maximiles
- Media View
- OneOpinion
- Opinion Outpost
From what I can see they are linking you up to legitimate websites, where you can answer surveys for a small amount of money.
All these websites are completely free to join and this is a very small list, there are hundreds of online survey sites out there and you don’t need to sign up to any portal sites like this to join them.
There’s nothing wrong at all with this site and you may find it useful!
I think if it contained some more opportunities there, then it would be a lot more useful – even if just to have a list of sites you can join in one place and avoiding the scam sites.
Pros Vs Cons Of PanelPlace:
PROS
- Social proof – I liked that some members post proof of their earnings, to show particular sites are actually paying out. I recently read that some were outdated, but I have seen some uploaded recently, from this year.
- They link you to legit sites – from what I can see from my list. They’re not all sites that I’ve given positive reviews, but they are not scams.
- It’s Free, (as all legit sites like this should be!).
CONS
- Survey wise, they largely link you specifically to survey sites rather than reward sites, (other than Maximiles). Reward sites are more enjoyable in my opinion, because they give you more of a variety of ways to earn, (such as via cashback, online offers, games, sweepstakes and so on…. Some, like Swagbucks, also reward points for using their search engine.
- There is little point to this site, you have to go off to other sites to actually complete any survey and have to sign up every single timeto these new websites, which you could have just done right away anyway.
- Some dishonest tactics – they suggest there are limited spots available on some of these sites, but there isn’t.
- You won’t earn much.
- Your earnings will be with whatever site you join through PanelPlace, so they don’t pay you directly and they do not have any influence over how you’re paid, or how much.
PanelPlace Review Conclusion: A Legit Website?
This is a legitimate website in my opinion. They link you up with some well-established sites – and if they recommended more sites that weren’t just survey panels, I would give them a higher score.
Personally, I think they could have so many more survey panels available. There are so many sites out there and most of the ones they recommend, are not ones I’d generally review that well.
I usually find survey related websites a disappointment, but there are still plenty that have decent feedback online, that they could have included.
All in all, this is OK… but nothing to get excited about!
Beyond Survey Panels Online:
Some people just love doing online surveys… but most people quit them pretty quickly, when they realise just how little you earn from them and how frustrating they can be to do.
I know I rant on about this – but most people really don’t want to put much effort in to make money online!
That’s why get-rich-quick schemes are booming with business and why millions of people sign up to online survey websites.
Maybe it’s because many people just don’t know how to begin to make better money online… at least, that’s the situation I was in a few years ago. I didn’t know what to do, where to look, or how to start.
For example; it wasn’t that long ago that I had NO IDEA that people could make decent money from owning a blog or little website. I thought only huge well known websites made any real money.
You may laugh, but I guess a lot of the online world is a bit of a mystery to most people.
